Three lottery companies merged in 2003 to form the Swiss national lottery company, Interkantonale Landeslotterie. The company operates under two major brands. Swisslos offers lottery products to the German- and Italian-speaking regions of Switzerland, while Loterie Romande serves the country's French-speaking population.

Small lotteries with targeted revenues of less than CHF 100,000 are operated on local and regional levels by small-scale operators. These popular local lotteries offer bingo, tombolas and lottery products for private events.

Swiss residents may also play the Euro Millions, a European lottery that pools the stakes of participating countries.
